    Real detectives sit around a table reading the news in the one room station, discussing the latest turn of events in the small town.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    Robert:<\/span><\/p>\n

    You just won\u2019t believe it! There\u2019s been another murder on the outskirts of town!<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Timothy:<\/span><\/p>\n

    You\u2019re joking, right?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joseph:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I\u2019m with Tim. There\u2019s no way that there\u2019s another one. We\u2019re already under our eyes in mysteries to solve.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Robert:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I\u2019m not even joking. Do you think I would?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah, I get that.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Knock on station door*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joseph:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Don\u2019t they know we\u2019re working?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Police Officer:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I know how hard you men are working. I\u2019ll get it.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Police officer walks over to station door and looks through peephole*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Police Officer:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Name and business at the station tonight?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Glen:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Glen Jaran, sir. I\u2019m a detective from Attleboro, Massachusetts. I heard about the slew of murders here and decided that I should come and lend a hand, since, after all, this is a pretty small town.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Police Officer;<\/span><\/p>\n

    ID?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Glen Jaran hands Police Officer fake ID*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Police officer opens door and allows GJ to pass.*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joseph:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *grumbles* *yawns* Well, we might as well start reading the brief from the field officer..<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *GJ pulls out (fake) field report, and begins to read*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Unidentified man found dead in cornfield late in the afternoon on Saturday, May 26. No blood identifying the victim or suspects has been found to the present, although there are some DNA on victim\u2019s torso and hip area, indicating that the murderer dragged or carried away the suspect.. *Continues reading*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *whispering to Joe* funny. MR usually does her field reports in bullet points.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah. I noticed that also. Do you think that we\u2019re dealing with a fake?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I don\u2019t think so. I just saw her finish the paper a couple minutes ago and hand it to Mr. Jaran.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe;<\/span><\/p>\n

    I still don\u2019t know\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Still reading*… Suspects identified in killing are the following: Leon Franz, Virginia Ernesta, and Laz Monoj.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hold up- did I hear you just blatantly and randomly name 3 people on a list for \u201csuspects?\u201d Leon Franz was my 12th grade science teacher!<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah, but that doesn\u2019t mean that he isn\u2019t a killer.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Rob stands up, fists clenched. Tim and Joe jump up and restrain Rob as he starts shouting at GJ*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *shouting* You don\u2019t know anything about teachers! Mr. Franz was the nicest, and kindest person I have ever met to this day!<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Look, Rob. If MR identified him as a suspect, he\u2019s got to be pretty suspicious. Let\u2019s go along with that and we\u2019ll see what happens.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah. It\u2019s getting late. We should go home to bed and sleep on the field report to think of ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    According to the report, just as a reminder for all of you who were whispering *looks at Joe and Tim* they found fingerprints and footprints on the scene. The footprints were later identified as Work boots, and the DNA found on the victim was identified as Pascal Eli *GJ shudders*- Wait. is it me, or did GJ not say that.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Maybe he just skipped a line by accident.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Possibly. Read on.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Although the DNA was identified, Pascal Eli was not found the US database of prior felons or murderers, yet is registered for voting in Attleboro, Massachusetts.- Hey GJ, isn\u2019t that where you\u2019re from?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah. Probably some guy that hopped in his car and drove up. Didn\u2019t know anyone with that name, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Okay. Let\u2019s go home to think on this one.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *All four leave, but Rob, Tim, and Joe stick around, waiting for GJ to get in his car and leave*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *whispering* Is it me, or does this dude seem like either he has no idea what he\u2019s doing, or like he\u2019s covering something up.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    You\u2019ve got to be joking. I saw nothing weird about him. *walks to car and leaves*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Nah. I\u2019m with you. But, just as a piece of advice, go with idea one, because he has no idea what he\u2019s doing. Just look at the field report. My teacher is just too much of a good person to be the murderer. *Walks off to car and leaves*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Calling after the other two* OK, go ahead and don\u2019t believe me. *Gets in car and leaves*<\/span><\/p>\n

    *SCENE*<\/span><\/p>\n

    Scene 2: 10:59 PM, May 26. Glen Jaran\u2019s \u2018House\u2019, Wheldrake, New Hampshire<\/b><\/p>\n

    *GJ paces in a nervous fashion*<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    How could I possibly have gotten myself into this mess. Somehow I get the idea that if I go to this little tiny town, kill someone, and then pose as a detective on the case, in which they already seem to think that i\u2019m suspicious\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

    I guess that i\u2019ll just sleep and go back there tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

    *GJ goes to bed and falls asleep*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *SCENE*<\/span><\/p>\n

    Scene 3: 8:26 AM, May 27. Police Station, Wheldrake, New Hampshire<\/b><\/p>\n

    The 4 detectives converge on a small table to continue on the case started last night.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Have you done any thinking on the case overnight in the morning?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    If anything, I may need to see the area where the crime was committed.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    GJ, you know that even we don\u2019t know where the crime was committed.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Unless you know, of course.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *<\/span>Shudders<\/span><\/i>* No, no. I was just hoping that there could be some clues there that could lead to narrowing the suspects down.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Well, we could invite them to the police station for an interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Or we could look for bystanders.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    GJ! Could you be our first bystander?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ;<\/span><\/p>\n

    *<\/span>Expression stone cold<\/span><\/i>* No. Why?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Why Not?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Maybe because I wasn\u2019t there.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    But you weren\u2019t on the team at the time of the murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    But that doesn\u2019t mean that I saw the crime.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Pulling Rob away* I don\u2019t think Rob had enough sleep last night. Sorry about him.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Tim and Rob go off to a far corner into a cubicle*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Why did you take me over here?!<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Whispering* Look. You can have opinion, but you can\u2019t show it. I know what you think, because you told me, but he\u2019ll get mad at us if you keep doing this.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I don\u2019t care what he thinks of me!! He can think any darn thing he wants as long as he listens to what I say.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    He won\u2019t listen to you because you\u2019re essentially blaming him for a murder. That\u2019s not cool. Take some time in this cubicle to try to think what could have happened.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    *Tim hands Rob field report and goes back to table*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Incredibly sorry about that. Sometimes Rob\u2019s emotions get ahead of him.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Harrumph* *Sarcastically* <\/span>sure.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Police Officer:<\/span><\/p>\n

    You know, GJ, you\u2019re still a volunteer. You can leave if you don’t want to help.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    No. I\u2019ll stay. Just tell these \u2018detectives\u2019 they should shut their mouths.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Look. The same that I said to Rob goes for you, too. If you can\u2019t handle the group conversation, you can go to a cubicle and work on your theory.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Sarcastic tone is back* fine. I think I will. *Storms over to cubicle where Rob is sitting*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    GJ! Wait! That\u2019s where Rob is. You can go to the one next to it, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Yeah, I knew that was the one he was in. I need a word with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    No, we can save that for later. Here\u2019s the field report. *hands GJ copy of Field report*<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hey, Joe. Do you want to phone some of the suspects?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Sure. I\u2019ll take Franz.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Sure, you do that, and I\u2019ll take Ernesta.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Scene 4: JOE\u2019s house, Wheldrake, New Hampshire 10:03 AM May 27<\/b><\/p>\n

    JOE has come home to call FRANZ regarding the suspicions of him in the murder.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hi, Mr. Franz.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Is this one of my students? Because if it is, then you\u2019d better hang up because I don\u2019t take calls from students.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    No, Sir. This is Timothy Forin of the Wheldrake Police Department Detectives division and I\u2019m calling you regarding the suspicions of your involvement in the murder yesterday.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    What murder?!?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    So you\u2019re saying that you don\u2019t know about it?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    When was the crime?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I just said it was yesterday.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    No, what hour of the day?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    It was about 4:00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I wasn\u2019t me. I was helping one of my students with his homework. 37 years nevers stops a man from doing his job right.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    FRANZ, TIM, ROB, JOE, and GJ sit around main table in police station, getting ready for the meeting.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Interview of Suspect Leon Franz in the case of the dragging murderer has commenced. Mr. Franz, will you have anyone speaking for you, our will you be speaking for yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I will be speaking for myself, sir.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    First question. Were you in the general vicinity of this address at 4 PM 2 nights ago <\/span><\/p>\n

    *Tim slides Franz a paper, reading the words; 200 Reservoir Street*<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Was there seriously a murder this close to the school?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Where\u2019s the school?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    It\u2019s across the street from this address.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Did you happen to be looking across the street to see any details of this?<\/span><\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

    I happened to glance out the window at about 3:57, and I saw someone that looked almost like an exact copy of you *Points a GJ* dragging what I thought was a bag or sack. Now I guess that was a body.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    *Turning his attention to GJ* <\/span><\/i>Do you have a twin, GJ?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    No!<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    So you were the one that dragged the body?<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    GJ:<\/span><\/p>\n

    NO!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Then do you know who it was?<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hey, Mr. Franz. Could you call up the security footage of the front of the school and send it to us?<\/span><\/p>\n

    We request the footage sent to the station by 7 PM today.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Franz:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

      No, thanks to you. We never would have gotten this far without you.<\/span><\/p>\n

      *Franz leaves*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Scene 6: Wheldrake Police Station, 7:00 PM, May 27<\/b><\/p>\n

      TIM, ROB, JOE, and GJ huddle around a computer, watching the security tapes from the front of the school building that FRANZ has so helpfully sent to them. Their eyes are drawn to the man hasty running across the field with a body draped across his back.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

      Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

      *<\/span>pauses and rewinds the video just so that you can see the unidentified man\u2019s face<\/span><\/i>* Let\u2019s take a screenshot here and run the picture of his face through the facial recognition software.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Rob:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Yeah. That\u2019ll be a lead into the heart of the criminal.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Joe takes a screenshot and opens the facial recognition software, interting the picture and waiting for the application to turn out a name and face<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Pascal Eli, identified again. This proves that we know who commited the crime. Now we should just check the databases of name changes, because the software last found the name Pascal Eli at a voting machine in Attleboro, in the last presidential election. *pauses* that was only a month ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Does that mean that you think that he changed his name to avoid detection?<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Joe;<\/span><\/p>\n

      Yes. and exactly why I wanted to check the records for name changes.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Tim;<\/span><\/p>\n

      As long as the others say that it\u2019s good with them, go ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Joe glances over at GJ and Rob. Neither says anything.<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

      I guess then I\u2019ll just check the database.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Joe walks off to the official station computer and puts in a request to the US government. These are taken very seriously, and the request for access is granted and the records are sent in a PDF. GJ seems panicked, and suddenly runs to the bathroom.<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

      *<\/span>In surprise<\/span><\/i>* Look at this!<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Rob and Tim run over, and look over Joe\u2019s shoulder<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Joe:<\/span><\/p>\n

      Pascal Eli changed his name to\u2026 Glen Jaran! *<\/span>Sits there, stunned<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Tim:<\/span><\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Giving orders to POLICE OFFICER and his assistants<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

      Chase him down.<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      *<\/span>Full squadran of police cars start in the parking lot, all chasing GJ, attempting to corner him<\/span><\/i>*<\/span><\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Narrator:<\/span><\/p>\n

      The chase of Glen Jaran was short and successful. The criminal was captured, convicted, and sent to death row. The detectives who had solved that case were awarded with the medal of honor, awarding them for their great thinking, and courage to bust their co-detective. In a later interview after being awarded with the medals, the detectives gave more credit to now retired high school teacher Leon Franz.<\/span><\/p>\n
