A man who use to be famous for his work in bringing countries at peace with each other, is now pale faced and dead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWas anyone else in the room the night this happened?\u201d I questioned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cNot that we know of. His bodyguard Val was standing right outside the apartment room said no one entered the room,\u201d said Detective Chase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cAll other detectives say it was suicide.\u201d This didn&#8217;t make any sense to me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cWhy would Senator of Massachusetts Garland Peet come all the way to Russia just to kill himself? It makes no sense,\u201d I responded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThen what do you think happened Logan?\u201d Chase said after taking a sip of his coffee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cI think it was murder,\u201d I stated while looking at the cold dead senator lying on the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I walk over to Val. She has tears streaming down her face. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWere you good friends Garland?\u201d I ask. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYes, I have know him for 6 years,\u201d Val responds while breathing heavily. I begin to ask her some questions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen he came home did he look upset or sick?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cN\u2026 no but he was very drunk. His friend An\u2026 Anatoli brought him home.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHave they known each other for a long time?\u201d I questioned. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNo, they just met a few days ago when the Senator arrived at the apartment,\u201d Val said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDo you think Anatoli could have killed Garland?\u201d I asked. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAnatoli seemed like a good man. While he could have murdered Garland\u2026 I doubt he did. He was not in the apartment when Garland died.\u201d I walk back to the cold dead body lying on the floor thinking about how he might have died.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7 hours later<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chase and I walk into the crime lab ready to learn new information about what happened to Garland. We quickly walk up to the Henry the forensic scientist investigator who is drinking coffee sitting in a chair. \u201cI think I know what happened to Garland\u201d declared Henry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cGood, do you know when he died too?\u201d I ask. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cYes, he died around 11:10 from a poison called bilge,\u201d Henry responded while cleaning his glasses with his shirt. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat does bilge do?\u201d Chase questions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt burns the heart the heart and lungs causing the body to stop when it can&#8217;t fight the bilge off anymore,\u201d I respond, turning from Henry to Chase. Henry seems surprised that I know what bilge is. He shouldn&#8217;t be. I took a course in forensic science in college.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHow long does it usually take for bilge to kill someone?\u201d Chase asks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cUsually about 5 hours, which means he had the bilge enter his body around 6:10\u201d I respond. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWell it looks like you don&#8217;t need me anymore!\u201d Henry says quicky walking away kicking a table. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe\u2019s got a temper,\u201d Chase says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe must have had the bilge at the bar. We should investigate them\u201d I exclaim.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhat about Anatoli?\u201d Chase asks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe will question him later\u201d I respond.
