When I first heard the sixth grade was going to Walden
\nPond, I wasn’t to excited. \u00a0I mean, biking 18 mile ROUND TRIP didn’t
\nsound like fun to me. And don’t get me started on how I felt about the
\nhiking in this escapade. I was dreading the trip.<\/p>\n

But when I got on my bike, that cold morning, my opinion
\nchanged. As my TAG group biked, we all got into the spirit of things,
\nshouting, “We are HENRY!” I had a blast, and the doughnuts at the pond
\nwere certainly part of it. But there was still the hiking.<\/p>\n

Now don’t get me wrong, I like hiking. I even found a horse
\nskull with my friends on a hiking trip. But hiking this big pond, just
\ndidn’t sound fun at all! But of course, my opinion changed.<\/p>\n

My TAG group hiked around the pond, and had a great time! We
\njournaled, each put a rock on that pile in honor of Thoerou, some of
\nus even tried to make spear heads (we are studying the hunter-gatherer
\nlifestyle.) I learned quite a bit!
\nWhen we got back to the spot we started at, we were all cheering and
\ngoing to the lunch bins. It was nice to just sit with our friends, and
\nhave fun. We all cheered the other groups in, as they came back from
\nthe hike.<\/p>\n

On the way back, my legs killed, but I was really excited.
\nThe achievement of what I had just done made me feel great. I was
\ntired, but it was SO worth it. I think this is one for the memory
\nbook.<\/p>\n

FACTS ABOUT THOREAU
\n-Thoreau wasn’t perfect! He actually ENJOYED a bit of
\ngossip at some times!<\/p>\n

-Thoreau may have had only space for one person to live comfortably,
\nbut he enjoyed eating dinner with people and having company.<\/p>\n

-Thoreau only worked about six weeks a year.<\/p>\n

-Thoreau started a forest fire!<\/p>\n

-Thoreau actually went to jail and wrote an essay on it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
