Maybe it&#8217;s the way they hold their glass of wine, instructing you on how to properly appreciate the aroma.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top 10 snobbiest states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Massachusetts &#8211; good or bad?&nbsp;<\/li><li>Vermont<\/li><li>Connecticut&nbsp;<\/li><li>New York<\/li><li>New Hampshire<\/li><li>Rhode Island&nbsp;<\/li><li>California<\/li><li>Oregon<\/li><li>Maine<\/li><li>Virginia<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It looks like the Northeast has a smug problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How was this information determined?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Percent of population with a bachelor\u2019s degree&nbsp;<\/li><li>Percent of degree earners with a degree in arts and humanities<\/li><li>Number of Ivy League colleges<\/li><li>Gallons of wine consumed yearly&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the people examined education using data from ACS. We opted to find the overall percent of the population in each state with a college degree.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are a lot of great things with college degrees and arts, they increase the rate of snobbiness, scientifically.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s now look at why the first five states are the first five:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>MASSACHUSETTS<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adults with college diploma:<\/strong> 42.9%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree holders with Arts or Humanities degree:<\/strong> 24%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wine bottles per person: <\/strong>21%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can you tell someone went to Harvard? You don\u2019t, but trust me, they\u2019ll tell you. In addition to being home smug university, Massachusetts is MUCH more educated than the rest of the country (LET\u2019S GO!) and has a strong appreciation for wine and cheese.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li><strong>VERMONT<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adults With College Diploma:<\/strong> 37.3%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree holders w\/ Arts or Humanities Degree:<\/strong> 29%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wine Bottles Per Person: <\/strong>26%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2nd place is a still pretty snobby. 29% of Vermonters have a humanities or arts degree, more than anywhere else in the country. With the extra wine bottles&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><strong>CONNECTICUT&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adults With College Diploma:<\/strong> 38.9%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree holders w\/ Arts or Humanities Degree:<\/strong> 24%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wine Bottles Per Person: <\/strong>19.5%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecticut is the third snobbiest state. Don\u2019t think so? Just head to New Haven and visit Yale, then you\u2019ll believe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li><strong>NEW YORK<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adults With College Diploma:<\/strong> 35.9%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree holders w\/ Arts or Humanities Degree:<\/strong> 27%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wine Bottles Per Person: <\/strong>16.8%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New York\u2026what a snobby place! Home to Broadway, many art galleries, and premier institutions, there is a lot to be confident about. Maybe a bit too confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\"><li><strong>NEW HAMPSHIRE<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adults With College Diploma:<\/strong> 36.5%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree holders w\/ Arts or Humanities Degree:<\/strong> 23%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wine Bottles Per Person: <\/strong>28%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 5th place is New Hampshire. New Hampshire consumes TONS of wine per person. It is estimated about 36.5% bottles of wine for every resident.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now for some serious stuff\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s okay to be proud, but don\u2019t be a snob!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The line between pride and snobbiness is thin.
