Pythons can grow up to 30 feet in length, and weigh around 200 pounds!<\/p>\n<p>2. There are almost 2,600 snake breeds in the world, and only 400 are poisonous.<\/p>\n<p>3. Ireland has no snakes there at all in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>4. Snakes are temporarily blinded when they are ready to shed their skin.<\/p>\n<p>5. Snakes have no eyelids, so they can\u2019t blink. Instead, their eyes are covered with a clear scale, called a spectacle.<\/p>\n<p>6. The throat and stomach of a snake will stretch to the size of whatever it is eating. That is why some pythons get really plump, when they have swallowed an entire antelope!<\/p>\n<p>7. Poisonous Snakes\u2019 poison is sometime \u201cmilked\u201d from them, by squeezing their venom sacs, so their poison comes out of their fangs. The poison is used to make anti-venom, which saves people who have been bitten by snakes.<\/p>\n<p>8. Snakes can feel vibrations in the ground from other animals, and they can determine whether it is big or small, or dangerous to them.<\/p>\n<p>9. The female Brahiminy Blind Snake, does not wait to find a mate before her babies develop, they develop on their own. If she can\u2019t find a mate, all of her babies will be female.<\/p>\n<p>10.
