Book Recommendations

Hi everyone, book recommendations are back. If you didn’t know, Willa Suratt and Olivia Green  also did book recommendations last year, but this year we have an addition, Maggie Buffum was a guest writer last year but will be joining us for real this time. Last year we did 3 or 4 books in a newspaper and this year will be the same but with bigger, better books (maybe not so bigger.) So enjoy the October 2021 book recommendations!!!!!!!!!! 

HER ROYAL HIGHNESS by Rachle Hawkins  

HER ROYAL HIGHNESS is about a girl named Millie. Millie has a best friend / girlfriend and she sees her kissing Mason (her friend’s ex-boyfriend). She is so mad that she decides to go to a school in Scotland that she had always dreamed of. She meets her roommate who is a sassy brat and only cares for herself. But Millie soon finds out that her roommate is actually… the princess of Scotland. After “THE CHALLENGE” at that school the two start to become friends or even more…

Belly Up is about a giant new zoo amusement park that just opened, but within the first month the mean Hippo goes belly up. Teddys parents work at Funjungle, the new zoo, Teddy thinks its his mission to investigate the possible murder. Teddy wants to speak to the owner of Funjunge, but the only way Teddy thinks he can speak to the owner is through his daughter, Summer. Teddy and Summer end up teaming to solve the mystery. They face dangers of all types. Was Henry the Hippo really murdered? Was it the crazy vet, the manager, the owner? Belly Up is the first in a long mystery series.

Everything Everything is a book about a 18 year old girl who has a problem that is as rare as it is famous. Basically, she is allergic to the world. Her name is Madeline Whittier. Madeline doesn’t leave her house, she hasn’t left her house in fifteen years. The only people she ever sees are her mom and her nurse, Carla. But then one day while Madeline was reading she heard the moving truck that changed everything. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black, black t-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely and he is moving next door. His name is Olly and I know one thing for sure, Madeline Whittier is certainly going to fall in love with Olly and It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

A GOOD GIRL’S GUIDE TO MURDER By Holly Jackson

A GOOD GIRL’S GUIDE TO MURDER is about Pippa (or Pip as her friend call her) who has a capstone project. She decides to solve a murder that happened over 5 years ago about the murder of Andie Bell by her boyfriend Sal Sighe. She works with Sals younger brother Ravi to uncover secrets of the town and the people in it. They interview family and friends and find out secrets of Andie Bell that they shouldn’t have known. Did Sal really kill Andie or did someone make it look like he did? Will Pip find it out before it gets her family hurt or her?????
