10:50AM Hola! That is how you say hello in Spanish. Today I woke up at 10:00, then I went downstairs and ate my breakfast. I had cereal. My dad says that I should start eating American food if I want to get used to it here. I also watched a show in Spanish. It was called Skam España, it is about a group of 16 year olds that are on their life journey together. I guess I can kinda relate. I mean I am on a journey in America. Well It is now 10:56 so I gotta go to school. I am still going late but tomorrow I am going to wake up on time, and leave at 8:00. The school starts at 8:30, and there is apparently a 15 minute break so that people can talk to friends and walk around at the beginning of the day. That is what my dad said anyways. I think that I already told you this but the drive to school is about 10 minutes, so if I wake up at 7:30 I should be ready by 8:00 when I leave. Then I would be at the school by 8:10 or 8:15 if there is traffic. I would have a 15 minute break like everyone else. Well I have to go to school. Bye!

6:40PM Hello again, I feel like I have not talked to you in so long, even though it was only one day. Let me tell you a bit more about my day. First, I already told you about what I did in the morning, about breakfast and watching Skam España. That was my morning. When my dad drove me to school the drive was easy and quick, but then about halfway there, the traffic began. At first there was not a lot of traffic and it stayed like that for a few minutes, but then me and my dad saw a big line of red lights in the distance. As we got closer I realized that it was a bunch of people in their cars. Most of them, I’m guessing, were driving their kids to school. We kept driving and when we got to the cars it felt like it took forever! Every second felt like a minute. All that I could see was the other cars in front and behind us. The only other thing that I could see was the slowly passing trees on the side of the road.

When I finally got to the school, there was barely any time left before homeroom and I had to hurry. Even when I did I was still a few minutes late. The teacher talked to me in the hallway. Luckily, I could understand her. She is also the Spanish teacher so I have her for two of my classes. I told her why I was late and she forgave me. After homeroom finished, I ran to my next class, English. .I was learning in the class when I felt a small tap on the back of my head. I tried to ignore it at first, but then I felt it again. At this point, the teacher was writing something about something. I could not read it because it was in English. I turned around to see what the tapping was, and a boy behind me looked at me and started to stick his tongue out. He started talking but I did not understand what he was saying. One thing that I did understand though was my name. I did not think that he was being nice to me though, because he was talking in a mean tone and shortly after he started talking, the teacher came over and started yelling at him. I heard my name again and then the teacher left. She was probably telling him to stop talking in class. Or telling him not to be mean to me, if he was being mean to me. I think I heard his name from a friend when the friend whispered something in his ear and closed his fist. After that he bumped it with the boy’s fist and they started laughing. The teacher glared at them but kept teaching.

After that I had science. I got really tired after two classes and homeroom, even though you only sit down the entire time. But luckily it was time for Spanish immersion. I love Spanish immersion because I can actually understand everything. And also because Lucy is in my class. We talked in Spanish a little bit at the beginning of the class but then when we started class, we only talked a little bit while we were learning. The teacher introduced a new project. The first one of the year. This project was called family words. Basically you have to write 5-10 words in both English and Spanish. The words have to relate to family. The Spanish words are easy for me because, well I speak Spanish but the English words are a lot harder to understand and write. I have a week to do this, and I have to draw a small picture on the board with the words. For example I can draw a picture of a family.

The rest of the day went by like a blur. I had social studies, math and finally study. Study felt so calming, well until Rachel came in. She looked very popular and spoiled. When she saw me looking at her she started to laugh. It sounded like a mix of a horse neighing and a pig oinking. I don;t get why people like her. I went home and took a shower after playing outside and ate dinner. I went up to my room and now I am writing in my journal.
