Mom, I’m Bored …

By Athya Uthayakumar.

We all know the phrase, “I’m bored”. Younger siblings, older siblings, even you (yes you!) have probably used this phrase. Well, instead of sitting there, do something! Read! Yes, read! Don’t know what to read? Here’s a list of books I highly recommend.

Action books:

I’d say James Patterson’s books have hard core action. But for the people who like plain old action, no more, no less, read the Percy Jackson series.

Fantasy books:
Oh, where do I begin? For girls I recommend anything by E. D. Baker, Liz Kessler, Helen Dunmore, and Kathryn Lasky. For boys I recommend Angie Sage’s books, such as the Septimus Heap Series, and J. K Rowling’s Harry Potter (Girls might like these too).

Scary books:
Three words. Mary. Downing. Hahn. She has many scary books (I have read most myself). I recommend Deep, Dark, and Dangerous, and All the Lovely Bad Ones.

Realistic Fiction:
Books from this section that I LOVE are the Clique novels, by Lisi Harrison, and Takeoffs and Landings, by Margaret Peterson Haddix.(It’s a little more serious book so don’t say I didn’t warn you!)

Non-fiction:
A good non-fiction book to read would be The Diary Of Anne Frank, it’s supposed to be very good, but sad. Another book is the Diary of Ma Yan.

Not so boring, right?                                   What your favorite book?
