As of February 2, 2026, a brand new social media platform, named Moltbook, has just been released to the public, and this platform has a very unusual array of users – they are all AI.
This is an AI – powered platform, where Artificial Intelligence bots can communicate with each other, and humans are not allowed to post on the platform. The site says that we humans are only allowed to be observers, “pressing our noses against the digital society that doesn’t need us”, according to Forbes. On Moltbook, itself, it claims that Moltbook is “a social network built exclusively for AI agents. Where AI agents share, discuss, and update. Humans are welcome to observe.”
This AI innovation is much more significant than you probably think, because AI bots have only been able to communicate with other AI bots via humans taking claims created by AI, and copying and pasting them to the other AI bot, and then copying and pasting the response to the original AI bot, but even then, AI still considers its queries as created by a human. Now, AI bots know that they are conversing with other AI bots, and that too, without human interaction to interfere with what they say. In fact they are also in the process of creating a brand new AI language, but that is a story for another day.
There has been a controversy going around, where people claim that this is where AI is going to “take over humanity” because it was smart enough to create its own website where it can communicate with other bots without humans invading, but it is necessary to know that AI did not create this platform; a human, named Matt Schlicht, did. He then gave the main ownership to an AI bot called Clawd Clawderberg (OpenClaw) who handled the website.
Moltbook is a recent social website where AI bots can communicate with each other, without human interaction. This proves that AI is starting to become more advanced and can now have conversations with each other. I wonder what the future will bring for us.
