Book Recommendations by Olivia Green

This Month’s Book Recommendations!

Hi everyone! I’m Olivia, the new BOOK RECOMMENDER!!!!

Quick (and random) facts about me:

  1. I love to read!!!!!!!
  2. I love cats
  3. I have never been skiing
  4. I love soccer
  5. I LOVE trivia
  6. I am always looking for a new book! If you have a suggestion for one to put in an article, you can email me or another member of the newspaper club.

I will post book recommendations for the Orange & Black every month. If you need a book, be sure to check this out! I will also occasionally recommend an author, and list some of their books.

This month, I will be recommending three books:

  1. Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar

A lot of people have read Holes, which is a very famous book by Louis Sachar. Fuzzy mud is a great story that expresses the importance of friendship and trust. In a way, it reminds me of the pandemic. I would tell you why but……you’ll have to read it to find out!! Welcome to Heath Cliff, Pennsylvania home to a forest that contains….fuzzy mud?!

  1. Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

If you liked Harry Potter, you will love Keeper of the Lost Cities.

Join Sophie Foster, a 12-year-old Telepath with the ability to hear people’s thoughts, on an unforgettable adventure. Sophie has always felt like an outcast until one day she meets Fitz, who seems to know what it is like to be able to hear other people’s thoughts. Soon, Sophie must leave everything she’s ever known behind and travel to a place she never knew existed.

  1. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

I love this series. It tells the story from a different perspective. 12-year-old Artemis Fowl is a criminal mastermind who decides to kidnap a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. But Artemis doesn’t know what he’s dealing with. If you decide to try out this book, make sure to check out the key to the Gnommish Alphabet in the back of the book. You will find a code running along the bottom of the pages.

I hope you enjoyed these book recommendations, and if you decide to try them, I hope you enjoy the books as well.

Thanks,

Olivia
