March Madness is the biggest college basketball tournament in the country. It is a 68 team bracketed tournament with the First Four, First Round, Second Round, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, and National Championship. The bracket structure is the same for both men and women.
The Sweet 16 (when there are 16 teams remaining) is currently happening for the men’s bracket. When #9 Iowa beat #1 Florida to get into the Sweet 16, it was possibly the biggest upset of the Second Round. An upset is a surprise win. Other big upsets include #11 Texas beating #3 Gonzaga, #5 St. John’s (NY) beating #4 Kansas, and #6 Tennessee beating #3 Virginia. The Sweet 16 is coming this Thursday and Friday. This week, I hope to watch some great basketball being played!
