Origami History, by Liang Lu

Origami is a very cool paper folding.  It starts from Japan and spread to the public.  The meaning of origami in Japan is “ori” means folding and “kami” means paper. Origami began sometime after Buddhist monks carried paper to Japan during the 6th century.  The first origami people ever made is the japanese crane.  Buddhism is a nontheistic religion that encompasses a variety of traditions.

Origami is a very fun paper folding, as always, we use a square piece of paper and fold it. But sometimes, it will needs 1 by 2 paper, like magic balls. But almost all of the origami is using by square paper.  If you don’t have a square paper, I’ll tell you a trick. you make a triangle on your paper, like the picture listed on the right.

But sometimes you can make stuff out of other size of paper. Like the Magic Ball. And sometimes you can use a lot pieces of right size paper and you can make cool stuff out of it too, like a pinwheel. Or sometimes you need to cut it, like a dolphin I made before.

And I love origami, because it was so fun to make and I made letters out of 1×2 pieces of papers for my mom for HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!
