Rain by Marina Stevenson

pitter
        patter
pitter
        patter
rain falls down
outside
from dark monstrous clouds
and thick grey skies
for thousands
of
mournful miles
drip
      drop
drip
      drop
rain falls like the
tears
of sorrow and regret
and all unspoken fears
but now the rain
vanishes
like a ghost in the wind
as sunlight shines
through the
deep
dark
void
where rain would
have lived
so let bright colors
come to view
let sunshine come to play
in our minds
and in our eyes
let the rain wash
away
