February Book Recommendations by Olivia Green and Willa Suratt

This Month’s

Book Recommendations!

Hi, it’s Olivia and I’m back with more book recommendations!

I am now collaborating on these articles with Willa Suratt! We will both write pieces on the books. I am also asking other people to write short pieces about books that stood out to them.

This month we will be recommending 3 books.

1.The Ickabog by J.K. Rowling

I’m sure you have heard about J.K. Rowling, author of the award winning series: Harry Potter! Well she is back again with her newest book: The Ickabog. The Ickabog is about a kingdom called Cornucopia. Cornucopia is a joyful little kingdom, famous all across the land for its food. But even in the joyous kingdom, trouble takes place. A legend of a gruesome monster named the Ickabog takes a life of its own. Just descriptions of it terrorize the people of Cornucopia. But two brave children put everything at stake to find the truth. Is the monster a fiction or a true beast? Read the book to find out!

2. Framed! by James Ponti

Framed! is a great book about a 12 year old boy named Florian Bates who uses TOAST to TRY and solve an art theft with his best friend Margaret. TOAST stands for the Theory Of All Small Things and it’s about noticing the small things in the picture to realize the big picture. Florian came up with TOAST and uses it in his everyday life to get information. That is perhaps the reason why he teams up with the FBI to help them solve the case. Can he crack this case and recover the stolen art?!? After Framed! there is Vanished! and Trapped!

3.The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games series is an amazing book series that I would definitely recommend! It is a 3-book series based in the distant future where there have been a lot of wars between the Capital and The 13 districts (the two parts of Panem). In the first book every district has to choose a boy and a girl to be sent to the Capital to fight to the death in a Capital arena, and only the winner will survive. Then in district 12 a little girl called Prim gets chosen to fight in the arena. Will her loving older sister Katniss step up to save the day?
