Episode 1: Week of Monday, May 7

Red Sox

The Red Sox have entered the week sporting the best record in the MLB, and have added to it in the series with the Rangers, Bringing their Winning percentage to .735, and keeping them a game ahead of the Yankees in the division. As for the Rest of the MLB, there are some surprising teams, some for the good, and some for the bad. The Dodgers have their starting Shortstop (C. Seager, out for season), Third Baseman (J. Turner, Out for at least 2 months mast today), Right fielder (Out for at least 10 more days), and Ace (C. Kershaw, out for at least 10 days and 2 starts), and their record shows it. They are 4 games under .500 and 8 games out of the D-Backs in the division. In other news, the NL east is going to be more of a hotly contested division this year than expected, as not only the Nationals and Mets are in contention, but the Baby Braves and Phillies have snuck up and took 1 and 2 in the division, respectively, but the fight isn’t over. Only 1.5 games seperate the 4 contesting teams in the division, and the division is promising some great competition between teams for years to come. In a totally other world, the Red Sox and Yankees already have had 1 brawl, going 1-1 between series and brawls so far, and started another series Tuesday.

Celtics:

Celtics playoff run going smoothly in the 2nd round against the 76ers. Celtics nearly swept them in game four on monday, but the 76ers pulled through and stayed alive, winning 92-103.

Bruins

A couple days ago, The lightning gave Boston sports fans a shock, when they came back from a huge loss in the first game, came back and knocked the Bruins from the NHL playoffs in the second round, 4-1. Some of the problems identified by players after the series ending loss were the lack of scoring in 5 on 5 play, leading to less time scoring goals and therefore, less goals in total. Another problem that the Bruins identified was that they weren’t aggressive enough. Aggressiveness wins games, as many say, and lack of aggressiveness loses games.
